THE BARD by Ron McVan
I have no new poems for you today,
the Bardic Druid he did say,
but lend me an ear, and hold your ground,
and I'll read you a poem by Ezra Pound,
and another poem to add I promise,
the finest words by Dylan Thomas!
And the Bard weaved his web, with good measure and rhyme,
And the Bard weaved his web, with good measure and rhyme,
transporting my soul, through a vortex in time,
and just when my trance, began to break,
he quoted more verses by William Blake.
Words have a magic, that Druids know well,
Words have a magic, that Druids know well,
hypnotize you, mesmerize you, put you under a spell.
The craft of the art, is ancient as the ages,
all of life is a poem, I have learned from the Sages.
Voices call from the earth, from the wind and the sea,
Voices call from the earth, from the wind and the sea,
exquizite they blend in harmony.
You must listen, when you hear them, let no word slip away,
write it, don't fight it, you'll be a poet someday!
